EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

A recent graduate, Jordan Pinder concentrated his studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The Faculty of Science offers degrees in a wide variety of subjects and give students the widest possible choice to tailor their education to their interests and strengths.

Subject areas are: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Economics, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Mathematics, Meterorolgy, Microbiology and Immunology, Neuroscience, Oceanography, Physics and Atmospheric Science, Psychology and Statistics. Many of these subject areas have a co-op option.

Three types of Bachelor of Science degrees are available in all 10 Faculty of Science departments: the Honours BSc, the 20-Credit Major BSc and the 15-credit BSc. It is also possible to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in any science subject, with the exception of Environmental Science.

Moreover, with a careful choice of classes, students can combine study of two science subjects, or a science subject and an arts subject, to earn a degree with Combined Honours or a Joint Major. It's a good idea to talk with departmental undergraduate advisors for assistance.

An undergraduate science degree is a good foundation for further education in the professional fields, such as law, medicine or the health-care professsions, such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Many of our students also choose to go on to study science in greater depth, by pursing a Master's or a PhD in a science subject.

"Study Abroad" is an interesting way to spend a year at another university, in another country.  Many students take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
