Early development of social understanding

Dr. Chris Moore's research interests fall within the area of the development of  commonsense psychology in young children. Commonsense psychology is
the kind of folk psychology that people use in their everyday lives.
For example, we may say that people can see things, feel things and  want things. Although they start out with no such under-standing,  within the space of a few years, children reach a point where they are able to use quite complex psychological reasoning to make sense of their social worlds. This is a remarkable achievement even if it is just common sense!
