Dr. Sherry Stewart

The overlap of alcohol and gambling disorders

Dr. Sherry H. Stewart, Ph.D., is a Killam Research Professor and CIHR Investigator in the Departments of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University, as well as a licenced clinical psychologist in the province of Nova Scotia.

She is currently serving as the coordinator of the Doctoral Training Program in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie.

She is well known for her research on psychological factors contributing to alcohol abuse, pathological gambling, and the comorbidity of mental health and addictive disorders.

Dr. Stewart receives funding from several research agencies including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation, the Canadian Tobacco Control Research Initiative, the Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation, and the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre.
